南洋理工大学兼我校“海外名师”Lin Weisi教授应邀来访

应威尼斯9499登录入口石光明教授的邀请，新加坡南洋理工大学Lin Weisi教授于2015年7月9号至7月23号来我校进行学术交流与访问。

Lin教授此次来访，首先, 面向全校师生做了题为“Multimedia Quality of Experience (QoE) Modeling and Evaluation”的学术报告。报告会由石光明教授主持。报告会上Lin Weisi教授对图像和视频质量评价进行了深入浅出地讲解和分析，并对未来的一些研究工作进行了展望与探讨。其次，在来访期间，林教授与石光明教授及其课题组老师进行了关于多媒体信息感知与度量的深入分析与讨论，研讨该领域的发展方向与未来趋势。最后，林教授亲自指导石光明教授课题组博士生工作，引导学生如何对学术产生兴趣，指导学生如何撰写学术论文等。林教授此次来访，有效拓展了我校师生的国际视野，并对我校多媒体信息学科建设产生了一定的积极影响。

作者简介：Lin Weisi graduated from Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou with B. Sc and M. SC, and from King’s College, London University, UK with Ph. D. Currently, he is an associate professor in School of Computer Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. He was the Lab Head of Visual Processing in Institute for Infocomm Research (Singapore) before joining NTU. His areas of expertise include video compression, image quality evaluation, and perceptual signal modelling. He was served as an AE for IEEE Trans. on Multimedia, IEEE Signal Processing Letters and Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation.

He holds 7 patents, published 100+ journal papers (including 60 IEEE Trans papers) and 190+ conference papers, authored 2 books, edited 3 books, and wrote 9 book chapters; he has been elected as a Distinguished lecturer of Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association (APSIPA), 2012-2013, and was an invited/panelist/keynote/tutorial speaker in VPQM06, SPIE VCIP10, IEEE ICCCN07, PCM07, PCM09, IEEE ISCAS08, IEEE ICME09, APSIPA10, IEEE ICIP10, IEEE MMTC QoEIG (2011), PCM12, WOCC12, HHME13, APSIPA13 and VCVP14. He gust-edited 7 special issues in international jouranls and organized 15 special sessions in international conferences. He has served as a technical program chair for PCM12, ICME13, QoMEX14 and PV15, and the ICME Steering Committee (2014-2015).
