报告题目：Feature Selection for Hyperspectral Image Classification

报告简介

  Hyperspectral sensors record the reflectance from the Earth’s surface over the full range of solar wavelengths with high spectral resolution. The resulting highdimensional data contain rich information for a wide range of applications. However, for a specific application, not all the measurements are important and useful. The original feature space may not be the most effective space for representing the data. Feature mining, which includes feature generation, feature selection (FS), and feature extraction (FE), is a critical task for hyperspectral data classification. In this talk various feature selection from the original spectral bands and the generated spatial features are overviewed with more detailed on the two nonparametric methods in the cluster space analysis and based on mutual information measurement, respectively.

 

专家简介

  Xiuping Jia received the B. Eng. degree from the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China, in 1982 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from The University of New South Wales, Australia, in 1996. Since 1988, she has been with the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, The University of New South Wales, Canberra Campus, Australia, where she is currently a Senior Lecturer. She is also a Guest Professor with Harbin Engineering University, China, and an Adjunct Researcher at China National Engineering Research Center for Informaiton Technology in Agriculture. Her research interests include remote sensing and image data analysis. She served as the inaugural Chair of IEEE ACT&NSW Section GRSS Chapter from 2011-2013. She is the co-author of the remote sensing textbook titled Remote Sensing Digital Image Analysis [Springer-Verlag, 3rd (1999) and 4th eds. (2006)]. Dr. Jia is an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, and an Associate Editor for Chinese Professionals in GIS.  She is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
